I & C Technician

Pay Rate: $49.34 per hour

Assist instrument mechanics of higher classification in locating and correcting trouble in control systems and instruments of combustion equipment and nuclear reactors, turbines, chlorinators, water treatment systems, and station auxiliary equipment. This involves inspecting, cleaning, calibrating, replacing defective parts, and repairing electrical and mechanical instruments and controls.

• Inspect, clean, adjust, calibrate, and repair instruments such as manometers, gauges, flow meters, transmitters, and thermometers.
• Maintain air operated valve actuators.
• Test and repair electronics and pneumatic control devices.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment EEI TECH test.
• Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access.
• Ability to transit to work location (walk, stairs, ladders, use elevator, etc.).
• Ability to manually carry, lift or handle material up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to position body (stand, sit, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, reach over shoulder height) as required.
• Ability to work different shifts.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• At least one of the following:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Electronics or Technical field.
  • Applicable military electronics maintenance experience.
  • Specialized training in power plant instrument operation and maintenance.
  • Navy Nuclear Electronic Technician experience.
