Electrical & Instrumentation Technician; Shift

Job Scope

Electrical & Instrumentation Technician supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Ringwood, Illinois. Report to Manager. Shift 2:
Monday to Friday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

• Perform work comfortably as part of a team or solo.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and instrumentation utilizing test equipment and documentation.
• Install and maintain various types of building electrical systems, instrumentation, machine controls, PLCs, HMIs, and other plant electrical equipment with voltages up to 480
  
  VAC.
• Monitor performance of electrical systems and instrumentation equipment for hazards, performance, or replacement.
• Interpret blueprints; work from work orders, sketches, and/or verbal instructions to modify electrical equipment.
• Appropriately use electric test equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Actively participate in the continuous improvement of workplace safety, environmental practices, and equipment.
• Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the preventive maintenance program and associated documentation.
• Utilize a computerized maintenance management system for work assignments and documentation.
• Perform mechanical duties as needed, such as initial repair troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience working with electrical systems, plant instrumentation systems and color‑coded wiring.
• Experience using electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Basic computer experience for maintenance tasks (e.g., systems, reporting, work orders).
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Prior industrial or manufacturing electrical experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman electrician's license preferred.
• Additional experience with PLCs and HMIs.
• Experience with preventive maintenance program development.

• Exposure to extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
• Considerable physical activity including lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 60 pounds, and/or working in elevated locations up to 35 feet.
• Work in a 7‑day shift system with on‑call schedule.
• Follow extensive safety precautions with protective equipment.

• Salary range: $42 - $44 per hour.
