Job SummaryThe Technician II – Security Systems is responsible for programming and installing security systems (Card Access, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion Systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings. This role coordinates small groups of installers, ensuring adherence to company safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Program and install security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings.
- Assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete projects.
- Assist in completing all IES commercial paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and others as required).
- Adhere to and participate in all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
USD $23.00/hr – $27.00/hr.
Qualifications- Regular attendance is mandatory.
- Self‑motivated, positive, professional, and capable of developing and implementing project process improvements.
- Promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- Act as company liaison for interface with customer representatives.
- Proven problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, reading, writing, and oral presentation skills.
- Able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Able to see and distinguish colors, read small print, and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- Able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Basic hand tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers (adjustable, needle‑nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight, gloves, multimeter, butt‑set, toner/wand, coax compression and/or hex crimp tool.
- At least a high‑school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial security systems or related telecommunications field and ability to supervise others.
- Knowledge of company/industry codes or ability to learn them.
- Proficiency with listed tools and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents, including specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
