Job Description
Position
Purpose:
Responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to include engines, motors, tools, parts (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, etc.), conveyor systems, etc. to ensure optimum performance of machines and associated equipment.
Primary Duties /Responsibilities:
- Performs the following duties:
- Numeracy; take accurate measurements using precision instruments (eg. dial indicator ,micrometer)
- Blueprint reading; have the ability to work from Prints and schematics
- Aerial Liftand other elevated work (Fall protection)
- Hot work
- Scaffolding
- Crane Safety
- Overhead Crane & Hoist Safety
- Fall Protection
- Line Breaking
- Confined Space
- LOTO
- Predictive Maintenance
- Conduit Fabrication
- Maintain appropriate records on completed work performed using the CMMS system, communicating all findings to the immediate supervisor.
- Must have the ability to work autonomously
- All candidates are subject to a 90 day probationary period.
- Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience / Background:
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
- Associate’s degree with an emphasis in Electrical/Mechanical skills preferred
- 5 (five) years work experience
- Must have completed schooling for a trade skill with a 3.0 or greater GPA or have a documented trade skill ( or have 1 year or greater, work experience as a Journeyman Instrument/Electrical Technician
- Must have completed 4160 hours of on the job training, or have documented 5 years or greater in related industrial experience and skill.
- Must have completed 600 hours of classroom (on-line or face to face) training including listed primary duties or have 1 year work experience as an I/E Journeyman
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Strong team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
- 40 hr. OSHA HAZWOPER and complete entry level training (LOTO, Line Breaking, Hotwork)
- Forklift certification
- Problem solving;
Must have the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair various complex pieces of equipment independently.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training:
- OSHA HAZWOPER training required
Hourly Pay:$43.50
