Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the safe operation of a variety of heavy equipment used in surface mining:
End dumps, Track Dozers, Track Excavators, Front End Loaders, Motor Graders and Water Trucks. This position is also responsible for ensuring safe and efficient equipment operations that conform to all applicable Federal and State requirements. Some employees will be responsible for Dragline and Shovel operations.
- Boarding and deboarding equipment, accessing inspection points to perform machine inspections, checking equipment fluid levels and assisting in fueling.
- Observe and comply with all company safety requirements.
- Must navigate busy mine traffic.
- Physical skill and ability to operate heavy equipment used in surface mining.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Possess communication skills.
- Safety awareness.
- Perform related work as required.
- Normal mine environment.
- Work will be completed in varying extremes of environmental conditions with exposure to dust, noise and adverse weather.
- Assignments may include rotating shift work with scheduled weekend work and work weeks in excess of 40 hours.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Any combination of training, education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Previous experience at Jewett Mine.
- Duties require repetitive and sustained physical effort: walking, climbing or standing on uneven terrain, lifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs.

Salary offered will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s education and/or experience and consistent with the job location’s market pay rate.
