Residential Installation & Service Technician

Job Summary

The Residential Installation & Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting residential voice, video, and internet services. This is an entry‑level field role designed for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and helping customers stay connected. You will complete field assessments, perform service calls, and build technical skills through paid training and required certifications.

• Perform residential installations, service changes, and disconnects while following safe work practices, company procedures, and applicable electrical and safety codes.
• Diagnose and resolve issues from the network connection to customer equipment.
• Install and support basic home networks using coaxial cable, Ethernet, and Wi‑Fi technology.
• Verify service quality using required testing tools and make adjustments to deliver reliable performance.
• Educate customers on products, services, equipment use, and set appropriate expectations.
• Accurately document completed work and update customer accounts using digital tools.
• Maintain, clean, and stock assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment; report safety concerns, incidents, or vehicle issues promptly.
• Operate ladders, hand tools, meters, and light power tools safely and correctly; work at heights up to 26 ft. on ladders, roofs, poles, or bucket trucks as required.
• Lift and carry equipment weighing 70 pounds or more; work in crawl spaces or attics; and perform duties near electrical sources.
• Drive a company vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Complete required training, certifications, background checks, and licensing within defined time frames.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, supervisors, and coworkers.
• Meet or exceed established performance and safety standards.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Relevant work experience in a similar field is preferred.
• Certifications:
  
  Valid driver’s license; additional certifications may be required (e.g., ACPI, FCC).
• Reliability, consistency, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks such as lifting 70 lbs., working in confined spaces, and operating equipment at heights.

$20.00 per hour, with quarterly bonuses and paid training. Benefits are effective on Day 1 and include health, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, company‑observed holidays, and discounted cable services.
