Falcon Sheet Metal Technician

West Star Aviation is a leading independent Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider with more than 78 years of experience. We are currently seeking a Falcon Sheet Metal Technician for our East Alton, IL facility.

We offer competitive pay ranging from $22 to $38 per hour with additional shift differentials, bonuses, 401(k) match, health savings accounts, and full benefits effective day one.

As a Sheet Metal Technician, you will work on turbine aircraft structures, read and interpret blueprints, and apply fastening systems and techniques. You may also supervise crews and help establish priorities for projects.

• Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe and associated components.
• Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening, and finish materials.
• Maintain, clean, and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling as needed.
• Navigate electronic training manuals and maintenance databases.
• Communicate clearly in English.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisor or management.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License is preferred
• Valid driver’s license for airline travel and/or passport is ideal, but not mandatory
• Prior sheet‑metal work experience is preferred

• Team player, self‑motivated, and able to perform in fast‑paced environments
• Committed to meeting deadlines and time constraints
• Attends work regularly, including overtime and weekend assignments; informs supervisor if unable to attend; reliable transportation required
• Follows FAA guidelines and company safety rules
• Maintains customer‑oriented work habits

Lifts up to 50 lbs.; routine walking, bending, squatting; repetitive motions with arms and hands; climbs ladders and stairs; works in small restricted areas; standing for long periods.

Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines; troubleshooting or evaluating system operation; professional collaboration.

Works under supervision of an assigned Team Leader and may be directed to supervise other technicians.

Hangar environment with extreme temperature variations; occasional outside work during aircraft runs; varied positions around aircraft.

Personal hand tools, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical equipment, jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices; tugs, power carts, and engine‑powered equipment.
