Aircraft Maintenance Technician – Weekend Shift
Location:
East Alton, IL, USA. Full Time, On‑Site. Posted 30+ days ago.
- Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
- Removal and installation of panels and components.
- Troubleshooting and problem‑solving aircraft system/component issues.
- De‑fuelling aircraft.
- Engine removal and installations.
- Operating ground support equipment.
- Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
- Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling.
- Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (speak, write, read) in English.
- Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensing- Airframe or Powerplant license required;
Airframe preferred.
- AMT I – 0–2 years in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar. Close supervision required.
- AMT II – 2–4 years. Requires general supervision on routine maintenance.
- AMT III – 4–6+ years. Requires general supervision for routine tasks; explanations of detailed work.
- AMT IV (Master) – 6+ years. Specialist on corporate aircraft. Subject matter expert.
- Self‑motivated team player able to perform in fast‑paced environment under deadlines and time constraints.
- Attends work as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
- Reliable transportation.
- Compliance with FAA guidelines and company safety rules.
- Customer‑oriented work habits.
- Lifts 50 lbs.
- Routine walking, bending, squatting, and sitting.
- Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
- Climbs ladders and stairs, works in small, restricted areas.
- Stands for long periods.
- Understands and implements regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshoots or evaluates system operation.
- Works with others professionally.
Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance. May supervise other technicians.
Working ConditionsHangar environment with extreme temperature variations. Work outside during aircraft runs. Varied positions around the aircraft.
Equipment Used- Personal hand tools.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
- Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
- Tugs, power carts, and other engine‑powered equipment.
Hourly rate generally ranges between $30 and $46. Shift differential may be provided.
