Overview
Join the Maintenance & Reliability Team at our Caseyville Prepared Foods Plant as a Maintenance Intern! This is the ideal opportunity for a current student with general knowledge in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, refrigeration, and/or automation. Multiple shifts are available.
PayBase Pay: $25.95 per hour.
Location & ExpansionTyson is expanding our Caseyville operations with a $181 million investment to add seven new production lines. The facility produces Jimmy Dean and Hillshire branded products and will incorporate automated warehousing and robotics.
Responsibilities- Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and electrical systems.
- Performs limited facility maintenance tasks as required.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SQF Quality Management policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems with equipment.
- Replace or repair broken or worn parts on equipment.
- Modify equipment to meet changing manufacturing requirements.
- Install new equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Perform limited masonry work, repairs plumbing fixtures, and woodwork.
- Repair, maintain and install electrical systems and fixtures.
- Measure, cut, bond, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
- Use hand and power tools.
- Install new runs of water, steam, and air piping.
- Install new runs of electric to various equipment.
- Maintain the building and grounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Actively enrolled in an accredited university or technical school seeking a degree or diploma in a maintenance‑specific field such as Mechanical, Automation, Refrigeration, Industrial Maintenance, Production Maintenance, or Electrical.

- Visualization: ability to imagine how something will look after movement or rearrangement.
- Deductive Reasoning: applying general rules to specific problems.
- Finger Dexterity: coordinated finger movements for small objects.
- Inductive Reasoning: combining pieces of information to form general conclusions.
- Work near moving mechanical parts and moderate to high noise levels.
- Required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Limit lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional lifts up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Work from a ladder or lift at heights greater than 20 feet.
- Drive a forklift.
Traditional shift. Some weekend work may be required. Rotating schedule: (3) 12‑hour days one week and (4) 12‑hour days the next week, alternating a 3‑day weekend every other week.
