Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on a wide range of machinery and mobile equipment used in material handling, metal fabrication, and the assembly of road construction equipment and trailers. This role focuses on maximizing equipment reliability, availability, and uptime through timely completion of maintenance activities and work orders. In addition, the Maintenance Technician performs general facility maintenance to support safe and efficient operations.

Senior Maintenance Technicians are expected to demonstrate advanced‑level troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise across a broad range of equipment. They play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing preventive maintenance programs, and supporting the development of apprentices through hands‑on training and mentorship.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on a variety of machinery and mobile equipment, including but not limited to lasers, burn tables, presses, air compressors, CNC equipment, rigging equipment, forklifts, and manlifts.
  • Analyze equipment failures and unplanned downtime to identify root causes and improve preventive maintenance practices.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of routine maintenance procedures that promote a proactive maintenance culture.
  • Monitor, prioritize, and complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety by following established procedures, reinforcing lockout/tagout practices, securing work areas, and ensuring all guards and safety devices are properly installed after maintenance is completed.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including but not limited to garage door repairs, plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, and building upkeep.
  • Train, mentor, and support team members participating in the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program.
  • Support and promote Etnyre’s 5S CANDO program by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with production and support teams to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification in multi‑craft maintenance, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with three‑phase electrical systems (up to 480V) and low‑voltage circuits required.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLC‑controlled equipment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Self‑motivated, dependable, and capable of managing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Customer‑service mindset with a commitment to supporting production operations and minimizing downtime.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to climb, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and work in varying positions while performing maintenance activities.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 55pounds.
  • Occasionally lift, move, or position loads up to 80pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
