Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician performs routine and emergency maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. This role focuses on troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and facility issues, conducting timely repairs, and performing preventive maintenance to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to diagnose issues and restore equipment functionality with minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC-related problems using appropriate tools, methods, and technical documentation.
- Conduct repairs on equipment and machinery, including replacing or adjusting parts to restore optimal performance.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules to reduce unexpected breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- Provide support during facility upgrades and new equipment installations, including setup, testing, and integration into existing systems.
Essential Skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Hands-on experience with industrial maintenance in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics and their application in industrial equipment.
- Basic electrical skills, including electrical troubleshooting and repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
Work Environment
This role is based in a medium-sized manufacturing facility that is relatively clean and organized. You will work around industrial equipment related to stationary and telescopic seating manufacturing and use standard maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment. The setting is hands-on and active, requiring comfort working on the shop floor and moving between machinery, facility areas, and maintenance workstations.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Altamont, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
