We’re seeking a dependable, mechanically skilled Pump Test Technician to perform field-based testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire apparatus across a six-state territory (MO, IL, IA, AR, and surrounding Midwest areas).

What This Role Looks Like (Day-to-Day)

This is a travel-based field role
:

  • Work primarily during a February–December service season
  • On the road Monday–Friday during peak months
  • Annual schedule is planned in advance and adjusted as needed for customer needs
  • Scheduling is coordinated by a Service Advisor
  • Off-season work is based in Roxana, IL
    , focused on shop maintenance, repairs, and training
What You’ll Do
  • Operate and maintain pump test trailer at fire department locations
  • Perform pump testing, inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems (engines, pumps, valves, foam systems, tanks)
  • Ensure NFPA compliance and safety standards
  • Calibrate and verify testing equipment (gauges, flow meters)
  • Document test results, repairs, and service reports
  • Coordinate parts and communicate repair needs internally
  • Communicate professionally with fire departments on service updates
  • Maintain trailer and equipment in safe working condition
  • Represent Banner Fire Equipment on customer sites
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma/GED required (trade school preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (engines, pumps, hydraulics, or heavy equipment)
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems using manuals and diagrams
  • Must provide and maintain basic personal hand tools required assigned duties (company provides larger equipment, service vehicles, and job-specific tools/materials)
  • Fire apparatus or emergency vehicle experience preferred
  • NFPA familiarity a plus; EVT certification preferred
