What you can expect as a Line Technician at West Star:This position is responsible for fueling, ground support, and aircraft movement of all types of airplanes that land at the airport. That can be everything from commercial airlines to military and business aircraft. You may also be required to assist with vehicle and facility maintenance and upkeep of the fuel trucks and ground support equipment. FAA, OSHA, EPA, and other safety rules must be followed at all times.
YouWill Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including
- Perform aircraft fueling per West Star procedures, following all safety guidelines.
- Towing and ground handling of aircraft using approved aircraft guidelines.
- Parking aircraft and providing customer support for passengers and crew.
- Provide background support such as vehicle maintenance, taking fuel loads from suppliers, and daily upkeep of the facility.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- A High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
Your Sense Of Responsibility- Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
- Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
- Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
- Maintain customer oriented work habits.
Physical Requirements
- Lifts 50 lbs., including fuel hoses.
- Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
- Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
- Climb ladders and stairs.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
- Must be alert and aware of surroundings.
- Work with others in a professional manner.
- Very good customer skills.
- Work under supervision of assigned Supervisor and Line Manager.
- May be directed to work independently on occasion.
- The majority of work will be on the ramp in all types of weather conditions.
- Work outside during aircraft taxiing will occur.
- Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
- Will have work inside line equipment storage area.
- Personal hand tools supplied by the company.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
- Fuel trucks, tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment.
