Prairieland Service Coordination, Inc. (PSCI) is looking to welcome a new Housing Navigator to our Prairieland family in Maryville, IL, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities across our service area.
This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, excellent benefits, and opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals to secure and maintain safe, stable, and affordable community-based housing.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate access to safe, affordable housing by identifying options, assisting with applications, and leasing processes
• Educate individuals with IDD and their families on supportive housing opportunities and how to navigate the process
• Collaborate with staff to assess housing needs and develop individualized housing and support plans
• Build and maintain relationships with landlords and educate them on working with individuals receiving services
• Assist clients with tenant readiness skills, including being a good neighbor and handling landlord-tenant concerns
• Complete required referrals, maintain accurate records, and track housing progress and outcomes
• Coordinate apartment outreach, showings, and support clients through the move-in process, including securing needed resources
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with internal teams, service providers, and community partners
• Monitor ongoing housing stability and connect clients to additional or long-term supports as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a human services–related field
- One year of cumulative experience providing direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience may be gained through employment, volunteer work, or family caregiving.
