School Social Worker​/Psychologist

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team at Meadowbrook Intermediate School as a School Social Worker/Psychologist for the 26-27 school year. This full‑time position is designed for an individual who is passionate about supporting the emotional, social, and academic success of students. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to promote a positive school environment and address the diverse needs of our student population.

• Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a supportive learning environment for all students.
• Develop and implement programs that promote mental health awareness, resilience, and social‑emotional learning.
• Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies or traumatic events.
• Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate services.
• Advocate for students and families, connecting them with community resources and support services as needed.
• Provide training and professional development to staff on mental health topics and best practices for supporting students.
• Stay current with developments in the field of school psychology and social work to enhance service delivery.

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Support Personnel Endorsement in School Psychologist (requires one‑year internship) or School Social Worker.
• Previous experience working in a school setting or with children is preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development, mental health issues, and evidence‑based intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations regarding student privacy and mental health services.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
