Clinical Assistants

Job Summary

Assists patients with chronic disease and disability with therapeutic exercise regimens. Activities include aerobic conditioning, strength training, active and passive stretching, balance and ambulation. The position also involves clerical duties such as exercise data entry into patient records.

• Assist patients with chronic disease and disability with therapeutic exercise regimens including aerobic conditioning, strength training, active and passive stretching, balance and ambulation.
• Perform clerical duties such as exercise data entry in patient records.

Only University of Utah students who have been awarded a Federal Work-Study Award for the current year are eligible. Applicants must hold a current Basic Life Support Card or complete certification within one month of hire and complete HIPAA certification during the first week of employment.

One year of higher education can be substituted for one year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = four years of directly related work experience).

• Clinical Assistant I – Requires little to no related experience.
• Clinical Assistant II – Requires at least one year of related experience.
• Clinical Assistant III – Requires three or more years of related experience.

Students majoring in health‑related fields or individuals with experience in rehabilitation services and exercise training are preferred.
