Location: Mossville

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Tech Lead to drive the development of next-generation automotive ECU software in a bare-metal / RTOS-based environment (FreeRTOS/Zephyr). The role focuses on low‑level software development, board bring‑up, and device driver engineering for ECU architectures.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in embedded C, hardware‑software integration, and automotive communication protocols
, along with the ability to engage in customer discussions and technical documentation
.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development of non‑AUTOSAR embedded software for automotive ECU platform
  • Perform bare‑metal and RTOS-based (FreeRTOS/Zephyr) software design and development
  • Drive board bring‑up activities, including hardware validation and debugging
  • Design, develop, and integrate low‑level device drivers (e.g., SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, ADC, PWM)
  • Work closely with hardware teams for ECU bring‑up, issue resolution, and validation
  • Perform low‑level debugging using tools such as JTAG, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer
  • Support integration of communication stacks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) where applicable
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decision making
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation (design specs, debugging reports, integration notes)
  • Engage in customer interactions for technical clarifications and status updates
  • Ensure software meets automotive quality standards and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience in Embedded C/C++ development in automotive domain
  • Hands‑on experience with bare‑metal and RTOS-based systems (FreeRTOS / Zephyr)
  • Proven expertise in board bring‑up and hardware‑software integration
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (STM, NXP, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in low‑level debugging techniques and tools (Oscilloscope, debugger, etc.)
  • Understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.)
  • Ability to work in non‑AUTOSAR environments (strict requirements)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Good to Have
  • Exposure to Ethernet‑based automotive communication
  • Basic understanding of Functional Safety (ISO 26262 / ASIL concepts)
  • Awareness of Linux‑based systems and embedded Linux domain
  • Familiarity with proprietary embedded tool chains and development ecosystems
  • Strong technical ownership and accountability

    Ability to work independently as a technical lead contributor
  • Clear and effective communication with customers and cross‑functional teams
  • Structured approach to documentation and reporting
Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics / Electrical / Embedded Systems / Computer Engineering
