In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Service Now Developer to lead the development, customization, and ongoing enhancement of our Service Now platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep, hands‑on expertise across the Service Now ecosystem, strong proficiency in JavaScript and UI development, and proven experience delivering solutions for IBM and public‑sector or defence clients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the design, development, and customization of complex Service Now applications and modules based on evolving business needs.

* Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including those within IBM and public‑sector or defence environments, to architect and implement scalable Service Now solutions that optimise processes and improve operational efficiency.

* Build, refine, and maintain advanced reports, dashboards, workflows, and automated processes within the platform.

* Design and support robust integrations between Service Now and external systems using APIs, web services, and other integration frameworks.

* Ensure all development aligns with Service Now best practices, platform governance, coding standards, and security standards required for government or defence‑related work.

* Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

Required technical and professional expertise

* Commerical experience in Service Now development or similar roles.

* In-depth knowledge of Service Now platform, including JavaScript, Apex, and UI development.

* Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.

* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.

* Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

* Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or equivalent certification.

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personal Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NVS) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
