Position: AIR OPERATIONS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Scott Air Force Base

Duties As a AIR OPERATIONS SPECIALIST at the GS-2150-11 some of your typical work assignments may include:
* Maintains constant surveillance of Operational Support Airlift (OSA) missions and active flights to identify and mitigate events and issues.
* Liaisons with cross-functional organizations such as airlift squadrons, Service aviation headquarters, airlift validation offices, senior leader staff, and request coordinators to provide customer support for airlift missions.
* Performs analysis and participates in studies to identify problem areas, issues, and inefficiencies in the OSA program.
* Evaluates and recommends change to policy, processes, and procedures on a continual basis to ensure operations are consistent with program intent. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Work may occasionally require travel away form the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
* May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours
* Incumbent may be required to be on-call to respond to emergent requirements requiring time sensitive response to meet customers needs
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

This position is telework eligible at management discretion Qualifications Individual Occupational Requirements Education Undergraduate and Graduate

Education:

Major study - accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position (aviation science, aviation affairs, aviation engineering, air transportation). OR Experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal.

This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations. AND You may qualify at the GS-11, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service:
* Centrally manages and schedules airlift requests submitted by DoD authorized agencies and activities
* Liaison with cross-functional organizations to provide customer support
* Performs airlift analysis and studies to identify problem areas and make recommendations for improvement to leadership both orally and in writing OR

B. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR

C. You have some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and you have more than one year but less than two years of education as described in

B. You have computed the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)
