Job Summary
To safely and efficiently transport products from the warehouse to various customers by driving a tractor trailer, delivering and unloading products according to customer invoices and company standards.
Responsibilities- Unload product from trailer by hand or using a hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions.
- Place products in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards, using proper handling and scanning methods.
- Complete all paperwork, including DOT logs, inspections, maintenance reports, pre‑ and post‑trip reports, and invoices, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure all food safety protocols are met, including maintaining proper temperatures, inspecting for damages, and preventing cross‑contamination.
- Maintain sanitary conditions in the tractor, trailer, warehouse, and yard.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with customers through excellent and courteous service and clear communication.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Minimum Education / Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor‑trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor‑trailer driving school is acceptable.
Certifications and/or Technical RequirementsValid ClassA Commercial Driver’s License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle per company policy.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of: DOT regulations;
Hazmat guidelines; safe lifting and delivery practices.
Skill in: driving long distances, driving over varied terrain and weather, communicating with customers, problem solving, delivering products.
Ability to: drive a tractor‑trailer unit day and night, remain alert, meet or exceed minimum productivity levels, handle hazardous materials and food items, operate a 3‑axle tractor, 45′–48′ trailer, straight truck, onboard computer, keypad, and 2‑wheel hand cart, perform basic math, plan and organize work activities independently, solve problems, read and speak English effectively.

The associate is required to sit, talk, and hear. Frequently required to lift, push, or move product weighing up to 50 pounds by hand, and to push/pull up to 250 pounds with a 2‑wheeled hand cart down a ramp into the customer’s storage areas. Must climb in and out of a tractor and trailer, reach to stack and unstack pallets, bend, twist, and retrieve items from the trailer.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work includes exposure to wet, hot, extreme cold and/or humid conditions, confined spaces, high or precarious places, fumes, and airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate. The schedule often requires overnight work, weekends, holidays, overtime, on‑call, and varying start times.
