Location: Mahomet
Mahomet‑Seymour Transportation Department – Route Driver
This position offers regular morning and afternoon routes. Morning routes run from 6:30 – 8:45 a.m. and afternoon routes run from 2:00/2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Additional trips include daytime field trips, after‑school athletic events, and extracurricular activities. Candidates must assist special‑needs students as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate school buses on assigned routes.
- Ensure student safety and bus compliance.
- Assist special‑needs students.
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- CDL license required; paid training and endorsement reimbursement available.
- Background check and physical clearance required.
- Experience or education in related field is a plus.
Salary and Benefits
Starting rate for the 2025‑2026 school year is $20.43 with IMRF. $1,000 sign‑on bonus available for drivers with a 2‑year commitment. Employee benefits are summarized in Appendix X of the MSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
