Position: Traffic Management Specialist with Security Clearance
Location: Scott Air Force Base

Duties
* Formulate command guidance on preparation for command operations.
* Provide transportation advice on movement operations, transportation initiative, and/or results of analysis, studies and surveys of operational or contingency operations.
* Advise management on transportation and logistics policies, programs, and/or procedures.
* Engage with stakeholders on the application of transportation and logistics policies, regulations and/or procedures.
* Develop procedures, methods, and/or techniques necessary for designing special transportation studies.
* Gather and/or compile data to develop functional requirements.
* Monitor command operations execution to identify potential problem areas.
* Develop recommendations for correction or improvement using after action reports, charts, graphs, statistical and/or narrative explanations.
* Provide support in applying short- and long-term system expertise to functional users.
* Analyze transportation systems to ensure strategic plans are acceptable and/or compatible in the transportation arena.
* Leverage relationships with stakeholders to integrate transportation missions across all combatant commands.
* Monitor cargo movements of DoD worldwide cargo via air, sea and surface modes of transportation. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft - TDY 15%
* May be required to work nonstandard duty hours.
* This position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights. Qualifications Who May Apply:

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes
1) Coordinating transportation activities, including freight movement, carrier selection;
2) Utilizing federal transportation regulations and experience ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards;
3) Conducting comprehensive analysis of transportation data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization, leading to informed decision-making and strategic planning; and (4) Providing responsive and effective customer service in a transportation or logistics environment, including addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
