Job SummaryThe Inventory Control Specialist ensures that physical inventory is accurately reflected in our systems and that product handling procedures are followed. The role involves cycle counts, audits, inventory status management, and coordination with warehouse and quality teams.
Responsibilities- Perform system cycle counts and count audits, monitoring adherence to handling procedures, and investigate root causes.
- Process returned goods and unidentified products to meet quality standards and assign appropriate inventory status.
- Conduct process audits, investigate issues, and communicate findings.
- Generate and maintain system reports and data integrity for Red Prairie, WMS, JDE, and BI.
- Collaborate with Warehouse and Quality to handle Hold and Rework products.
- Manage flow of product inventories and statuses to maximize efficiency and rotation.
- Use RF equipment for inventory transactions.
- Physically rotate finished goods for proper aging.
- Utilize WMS to load outgoing orders onto customer trailers.
- Unload, transport, and store incoming materials/finished goods using WMS.
- Ensure departmental compliance with company policies and guidelines.
- Inspect assigned equipment daily.
- Conduct QA audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Required Qualifications
- Strong eye for detail; inventory control experience desirable.
- Strong math and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Word) preferred.
- Ability to work scheduled times and required overtime.
- Experience with JD Edwards and Red Prairie WMS.
- Operate forklift.
- Work in warehouse, cold storage, and shipping dock environments.
- Exposure to cold temperatures (34°F to sub‑zero). Occasional exposure to sub‑zero temperatures.
