IT Support Specialist

Description We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to provide dependable technical assistance for a government environment in Imperial Beach, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys resolving user issues, supporting desktop systems, and delivering responsive service across daily support needs. The role focuses on maintaining Windows-based workstations, assisting with account-related requests, and ensuring service tickets are handled accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Provide front-line technical support for end users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and access-related issues.

- Manage user account support tasks within Active Directory, including updates to permissions, passwords, and account status.

- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows desktops and laptops to support reliable day-to-day operations.

- Troubleshoot Windows 10 system problems and deliver timely solutions that minimize user downtime.

- Receive, document, prioritize, and close service desk tickets while keeping accurate records of work performed.

- Escalate more complex technical matters when needed and coordinate with other support resources to ensure resolution.

- Assist with workstation setup, device replacements, and routine technical support activities across the office environment. Requirements - Experience providing help desk or desktop support in a detail-oriented IT setting.

- Working knowledge of Active Directory for common user administration tasks.

- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Windows, including Windows 10 environments.

- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, and user access issues.

- Familiarity with service desk ticketing processes and maintaining clear support documentation.
