Dispatcher

Transdev in El Centro, CA is hiring a Dispatcher. The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to clients. We are seeking customer service‑oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

  • Pay scale $20.00/hr to $21.06/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route timing, performance, incidents, etc.
  • Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips, including no shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
  • Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators; act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
  • Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
  • Answer customer calls and input ride information using a computerized scheduling system.
  • Enter new customer information and changes into the system.
  • Data entry into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Resolve service‑related complaints.
  • Create daily route maps of the reservations for the drivers.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED;
    Technical Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience dispatching.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside, alone, and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and on sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to retrieve files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
