About The Role
Arc Experience is seeking a licensed Cosmetology Instructor to lead a 10-lesson enrichment course for high school students at Holtville High School in the greater Imperial Valley area.
What You’ll TeachStudents will be introduced to hands-on, foundational cosmetology skills, including nail art techniques, makeup application, lash application, hair braiding, and an overview of cosmetology licensure pathways and career options. You’ll lead your own class and create an engaging, supportive learning environment that encourages skill-building, professionalism, and confidence.
Schedule & Compensation- Schedule:
Flexible; generally between 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday - Hours:
Based on course structure (10 total instructional sessions) - Pay Rate: $35/hour for instructional time | $22/hour for meetings or non-teaching time

Comfortable traveling between Holtville and the Imperial Valley office as needed
- Plan and deliver engaging cosmetology lessons for high school students
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Teach practical, hands-on skills aligned with industry foundations
- Support students in understanding cosmetology career and licensing pathways
- Attend occasional meetings or training sessions as needed
- Active cosmetology license required
- Passion for working with and mentoring youth
- Confidence leading a classroom independently
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation for local travel
- Teaching, coaching, or youth program experience preferred but not required
- Flexible, part-time schedule

To qualify for this position, you will need:
- Active Cosmetology License (California)
- Experience in cosmetology services such as nail art, makeup application, lashes, and/or hair braiding
- Ability to teach and demonstrate foundational cosmetology skills to high school–aged students
- Comfort guiding students through the cosmetology licensure pathway and career options
- Availability to teach between 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday (schedule flexible within this window)
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Holtville and the Imperial Valley office as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching, mentoring, or training youth or young adults
- Experience working in an educational, after-school, or enrichment program setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for youth development and career-based education
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work independently and lead a classroom with confidence
- Professional, positive, and student-centered approach
- College transcripts that show you have 48+ college credit units completed OR take and pass an academic proficiency exam
- TB test with negative result and Live Scan background check
- English-Spanish bilingual speakers are encouraged—resume will stand out
Covid-19 vaccination documentation may be required by the school you will be working at.
This position is part-time, non-exempt. This position reports to the Enrichment Coordinator.
