BASIC FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this part‑time temporary instructional faculty assignment seeks an exceptionally motivated candidate who engages a diverse student body, fosters academic growth, and promotes diversity and inclusion.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES- Provide instruction in accordance with approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and established course outlines and as assigned based on the needs of the college.
- Conduct classes, prepare course materials, evaluate students, develop course syllabi, assess and evaluate student learning outcomes, and perform other related duties.
- Maintain and submit accurate records according to published deadlines (e.g., grades, syllabi, attendance reports).
- Maintain professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position.
- Advise students on academic matters.
- Maintain competency in the field.
Assignments are based upon availability of classes, seniority, and qualifications, not limited to the duties listed above.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND two (2) years of experience.
- Associate’s degree in a related field AND six (6) years of experience.
- Evidence of sensitivity and understanding of diverse academic, socio‑economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a).
Applicants may qualify for this position by having education and experience equivalent to the listed degrees. To be considered for equivalency, the candidate must submit college transcripts (transcripts must show degree was awarded or conferred with a completion date) and a complete description of work experience with their application.
