Standard Motor Products Independence is recruiting for an Automation Engineer to design systems of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls for machines and test equipment utilizing knowledge of computer-aided design and applying knowledge of electricity, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

• Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering degree from a four-year college or university required.
• 1-5 years’ experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Experience with the following:
  Automated test and controls, OrCAD Schematic Software, Robot Programming (Epson Robots a plus).
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be self‑motivated, able to demonstrate the ability to manage difficult situations, able to balance team and individual responsibilities.
• Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision.
