Columbia County Public Safety Communications: E-911 Public Safety Telecommunicator
Columbia County Public Safety Communications is seeking applicants to fill the full-time position of E-911 Public Safety Telecommunicator.
Applicants must be able to work 12‑hour shifts, overtime hours, holidays, and may be required to work additional shifts.
Responsibilities- Receive and prioritize emergency and non‑emergency telephone calls from the public.
- Process information with the aid of a computer‑aided dispatch (CAD) system.
- Dispatch appropriate public safety agencies, including police, fire, and emergency medical units.
- Monitor public safety units in the field.
- Retrieve and enter computer data for law enforcement personnel.
- Monitor alarm systems.
- Operate security devices and other related communications equipment.
