Quality Engineer

Position Overview

A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to lead quality improvement efforts, resolve production and customer issues, and strengthen manufacturing processes. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, suppliers, customers, and Quality leadership.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in root cause analysis, corrective actions, quality systems, supplier and customer quality, and continuous improvement. Candidates should be able to clearly explain projects they personally led and the measurable results achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Resolve production-floor, customer, and supplier quality issues.
  • Develop and improve process controls, quality procedures, and inspection methods.
  • Complete customer and supplier PPAPs.
  • Perform capability studies, GR&R, MSA, DOE, and statistical analysis.
  • Apply quality tools including SPC, FMEA, control plans, APQP, 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto analysis.
  • Support new-product introductions, equipment implementation, and material-quality initiatives.
  • Conduct audits and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Train operators and management on quality procedures and tools.
  • Drive improvements in scrap, rework, defects, first-pass yield, and cost of poor quality.
Qualifications
  • 3+ of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong root cause analysis, corrective action, and problem-solving experience.
  • Experience with supplier quality, customer quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and quality-control tools.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Automotive, OEM, OES, or other regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with in an IATF 16949-certified environment.
  • PPAP, APQP, FMEA, DOE, MSA, GR&R, audits, and statistical software.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • CQE or CQA certification.
