Design and deliver biodiversity monitoring, specifically, a Tier 2 terrestrial biodiversity monitoring framework for the Waikato Region

Analyse, interpret and report environmental data for State of the Environment processes and to a wide range of audiences

Provide technical and strategic ecology advice to internal and external stakeholders for policy development, resource consent processes and resource management decisions.

Coordinate biodiversity information management by scoping and managing delivery of projects, overseeing external contractors to meet budgets, timelines and quality objectives.

Build relationships and collaboration:
Develop relationships with a range of external parties to deliver collaborative outcomes beyond the reach of individuals.

Strong technical monitoring expertise: in ecology and biodiversity monitoring, specifically in designing, implementing and evaluating monitoring programmes and indicators.

Sound New Zealand ecology and biodiversity knowledge to offer reliable advice to environmental management and decision-making processes.

Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex environmental data and translating this into practical knowledge and advice for a range of audiences.

Project management and stakeholder communication skills to coordinate projects with multiple interests, producing productive relationships and genuine collaboration.

A relevant post-graduate (MSc or PhD) tertiary qualification (or equivalent professional experience >15 years) in ecology or biology, or a related field.

Full NZ Drivers licence.
