Caregiver/Direct Support Provider for Individuals with Disabilities Along Life’s Journey ("Coach") (Part‑time, Residential, Independence, KS)

Expected Hours
: 6.5 hours per week

• Monday: 7:00‑8:30 am & 4:00‑7:30 pm
• Tuesday: off
• Wednesday: off
• Thursday: off
• Friday: off
• Saturday: off
• Sunday: 7:00‑8:00 am & 6:45‑7:15 pm

• Provide companionship and supportive relationships to individuals with disabilities.
• Assist with daily living activities, basic medical needs, and household chores.
• Coach clients in coping with challenges and completing daily tasks.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Advocate for client independence and integration into employment and home settings.
• Monitor client health, safety, and well‑being; act as a role model.
• Distribute and record medications as prescribed by the client’s physician.
• Receive paid training; major holidays are either off or paid double.
• Maintain a caring, supportive relationship while following a relaxed dress code.

• Valid driver’s license; designated as an “insurable driver” by automobile insurance carrier.
• Compliance with federal, state, and local laws on communicable diseases and immunization policies.
• Ability to work with both male and female clients.
• Basic math skills for support log totals.
• Effective communication skills.
• Reading and writing ability for case notes, plans, and policies.
• Team player; facilitates teamwork with assigned teams.
• Completion of minimum required in‑service training each year.
• Possible commercial driver’s license (CDL) required for some positions (not for most).
• Pass pre‑employment testing and background check for criminal offenses and child/elder abuse.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Experience in direct support appreciated but not required; training provided.
