Overview

Senior Data Platform Engineer to lead the evolution of our cloud‑based data ecosystem across multiple business units. This role combines hands‑on engineering with architectural guidance, governance leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with modern data engineering practices, including medallion architecture, and plays a key role in shaping the long‑term direction of our data platform.

Responsibilities
  • Solution Design and Development:
    • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of a modern cloud data platform that delivers secure, high‑quality, analytics‑ready data.
    • Champion the use of medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) to structure ingestion, refinement, and consumption layers for scalability and maintainability.
    • Provide architectural guidance on data modeling, transformation patterns, and platform standards.
  • Medallion Architecture & Data Quality Strategy
    • Define best practices for Bronze‑layer ingestion, ensuring lineage, traceability, and auditability.
    • Establish Silver‑layer refinement standards for cleansing, harmonization, and schema consistency.
    • Oversee the creation of Gold‑layer curated datasets optimized for reporting, analytics, and self‑service.
    • Develop and enforce data quality frameworks, validation rules, and monitoring processes across all layers.
  • Lead integration efforts across diverse data sources, including APIs, cloud applications, and on‑premise systems.
  • Mentor team members on data engineering patterns, performance optimization, and scalable design.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across pipelines, cloud resources, and orchestration tools, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Security, Governance & Compliance Leadership
  • Partner with Cyber Security, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure adherence to data residency, privacy, and security requirements.
  • Define and maintain access control strategies, including row‑level security and identity‑based permissions.
  • Promote governance practices that support data stewardship, cataloging, and lifecycle management.
Platform Administration & Optimization
  • Manage platform‑level updates, license renewals, and long‑term capacity planning. Dev Ops & Deployment Automation Leadership
  • Lead the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent, automated deployments across environments.
  • Establish branching strategies, code review standards, and development workflows that promote quality and collaboration.
  • Guide the team in adopting Dev Ops best practices to improve delivery speed, reliability, and observability.
Cross‑Functional & Strategic Collaboration
  • Represent the data platform in change management forums, assessing the impact of IT initiatives and aligning platform strategy with organizational goals.
  • Partner with business analysts, product owners, and leadership to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Influence long‑term data strategy, platform roadmap, and technology adoption decisions.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience working as a Data Engineer in Azure.
  • Expert understanding of Microsoft 365 services and Azure.
  • Expert level of Dataverse.
  • Expert level data modeling and database concepts.
  • Expert with programming languages such as T‑SQL, Python or R.
  • Expert knowledge of cloud computing concepts.
  • Expert understanding of Application Lifecycle Management principles.
  • Expert experience designing and developing data warehouse solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Data Warehouses.
