Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Project Superintendent is responsible for the safety, quality, efficiency, and timeliness of the project. This position will provide on-site coordination for all phases of the project, including material, equipment, subcontractors, and labor. While there are specific responsibilities and expectations described below, it is essential that the Project Superintendent be organized, possess good judgment skills, communicate effectively, and have technical knowledge of earthwork, drainage, structural concrete, drilled shafts, etc.

TRAVEL

Regularly travel to Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes safety, quality, efficiency, and core values
  • Develops, refines, and updates the project schedule
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of contract drawings/specifications
  • Understands project costs and manages company assets
  • Creates and manages project documentation
  • Coordinates project operations including subcontractors and material vendors
  • Knowledge of all regulations to ensure all aspects of the project are compliant
  • Provides leadership and maintains effective working relationships with the on-site staff
  • Develops daily crew lists and manages field activities to ensure the project completion date is met
  • Leads weekly foreman meeting
  • Plans and develops a three-week forecast to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions
  • Maintains regulatory compliance for projects
  • Ability to interface and maintain good relationships with owners
  • Regular travel to jobs in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Educational equivalent or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of experience in progressive responsibility supervising construction projects
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a construction-related field

  • Valid Driver’s License Required

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position, and the work week for employees is normally considered 40 hours Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required to support time-sensitive issues as they arise. However, greater emphasis is placed on meeting the responsibilities assigned to this position.
