Rockwell Sterling is recruiting for an experienced Construction Project Manager with specialized expertise in Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Water Infrastructure construction
.
In this role, you will lead heavy civil and process mechanical projects from preconstruction through commissioning. You will manage cross-functional teams of superintendents, subcontractors, process equipment vendors, and engineers to ensure high-quality, compliant infrastructure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Project Execution & Leadership: Direct all phases of construction for municipal and industrial wastewater facilities, pump stations, and piping infrastructure.
- Financial & Schedule Management: Manage project budgets, forecasting, pay applications, cost coding, and critical path method (CPM) scheduling.
- Contract & Scope Management: Handle subcontractor agreements, change orders, RFIs, and submittal reviews alongside municipal clients, owner representatives, and design engineers.
- Technical Oversight: Review civil, structural, process mechanical, electrical, and SCADA/instrumentation drawings to identify constructability issues and value engineering opportunities.
- Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination: Procure and manage specialized WWTP equipment vendors (clarifiers, digesters, aeration systems, dewatering equipment) and trades.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Enforce jobsite safety protocols and ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations, local permits, and project specifications.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary liaison to municipal owners, district engineers, and regulatory agencies.
- Experience: 3 to 8 years of project management experience directly focused on Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) or Water Treatment Plant (WTP) construction with a General Contractor.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of process mechanical piping, concrete structures, earthwork, pump stations, and process equipment installation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with construction software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD).
- Delivery Methods: Familiarity with Hard Bid, Design-Build, or CMAR project delivery models.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
- Experience with startup, testing, and commissioning sequences for treatment plants.
