- Lead the development, application, deployment, and continued enforcement of data policies and processes, including data ingestion workflow, data quality, master data, and data lifecycle management
- Ensure data quality guidance is applied throughout the data lifecycle and contribute to visions and roadmaps for data and data services solutions
- Oversee design, development, and implementation of functionality within Data Governance tools and technologies
- Curate operational documentation for Data Governance tools and technologies across the organization
- Ensure governed data assets adhere to appropriate policies and standards
- Lead design, development, support, and ongoing maintenance of an end-to-end data lifecycle management approach
- Apply the data governance framework, operating model, policies, standards, and data management definitions across Northwest
- Lead continuous improvement of data quality in accordance with the Bank’s data governance strategy
- Lead translation of business rules into data quality rules and implement them in data profiling processes
- Plan, direct, and execute data improvement efforts in a highly matrixed environment
- Lead root-cause investigations of data quality issues and develop remediation solutions
- Facilitate Data Working Group sessions to identify and document critical data assets, their uses, and governing business rules
- Monitor data quality processes, identify issue patterns, apply remediation plans, implement data controls, and manage remediation strategies
- Assist with developing, reviewing, and following data quality management standards, policies, and processes
- Lead and manage program-level metrics and reporting for the Data Steering Committee and other oversight bodies
- Lead product demonstrations of Data Governance tools and technologies
- Work with the Training Department to develop and refine enterprise Data Governance training content
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and Federal/State regulations
- Work as part of a team and with on-site equipment
- Follow safety and loss prevention procedures, perform tasks safely, report injuries, and know emergency procedures
- Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Informatics or related business or technical field
- 5–6 years of experience in data governance or quality management, information architecture, and governance design and implementation, with significant influence on overall direction of data governance management
- 3–5 years of experience in data governance or quality management, information architecture, and governance design and implementation, with significant influence on overall direction of data governance management
- 3–5 years of experience in banking and finance industry with a focus on bank operations and the banking regulatory environment
- Experience managing enterprise data assets in a large, complex organization
- Knowledge of Master Data Management technology landscape, processes, and design principles
- Experience using metadata management, data quality, and data stewardship tools and platforms;
Microsoft Purview preferred - Experience using data catalogues and data quality technologies
- Ability to analyze complex situations and derive actionable plans
- Knowledge of developing and operationalizing data-based guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards
- Hands-on operational management and change management experience
- Knowledge of cloud and data management trends, including open source projects, methodologies, and commercial vendors related to data acquisition, management, and the semantic web
- Ability to comply with Northwest’s policies and procedures and Federal/State regulations
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Office software, computer applications, and department-specific software
- Any Data Governance, Vendor or Industry certification
Demonstrates expertise in Data Governance, Data Quality Management, and Master Data Management, with a strong focus on compliance with Federal/State regulations and the banking regulatory environment. Proven ability to lead data lifecycle management initiatives and implement data quality standards across complex organizations.
