• Collecting baseline forest habitat data (40%)
• Cruising & marking timber to enhance wildlife habitat (20%)
• Assisting with timber sale administration (20%)
• Other tasks as assigned (20%)
• Invasive plant control and monitoring of wildlife and habitat responses to various forest management treatments
• Various wildlife management activities depending on refuge needs

• Education:
  
  Forestry students enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate program or recent graduates; wildlife students with an interest in forest ecology encouraged.
• Experience:
  
  Basic dendrology, forest mensuration, and silvicultural knowledge or experience preferred.
• Skills:
  
  Ability to work outdoors and tolerate weather, animals, and natural conditions.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Driving required.
• Background Investigation:
  Required for employment.
