The Logistics Coordinator has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned to them daily. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, they are responsible for oversight of the associates dedicated to the warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area, ensuring a consistent service and cost performance aligned with company objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Training Responsibilities: Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control; assist in forklift operation and certification.
- Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities: Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, picking and staging of outbound shipments; verify paperwork with drivers; efficiently load orders; research discrepancies.
- Customer Service: Conduct oneself professionally; communicate with customers via phone, email, or in person; prepare accurate activity reports for site management.
- Quality Control Responsibilities: Use documentation to verify correct receipt, shipment, and picking; report damages or discrepancies; stack, package, shrink wrap, and label products; participate in quality meetings.
- Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Comply with ISO standards and safety protocols; maintain warehouse cleanliness; participate in safety meetings; adhere to OSH/ MSDS Standards.
- Labor Management: Direct warehouse work team operations; assist associates with productivity sheets and payroll hours; support scheduling; ensure product handling follows quality procedures.
- Responsibility and Authority: Participate in department meetings; initiate actions to prevent non-conformities; maintain communication with Quality Department.
- Equipment Operation: Operate sit‑down, stand‑up, reach trucks, sweepers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks; keep equipment in working order; perform daily inspections and minor maintenance; maintain active forklift certification.
- Maintenance: Assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Other Duties: Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and record keeping; work evenings and weekends as needed; work overtime; perform any duties as assigned.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Required Qualifications
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; 1 year of logistics/distribution experience; ability to operate MHE.
- Ability to work in uncontrolled warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.
- Certificates: Successful completion of a forklift training program.
- Computer
Skills:
Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions. - Language
Skills:
English reading, writing, and verbal. - Mathematical
Skills:
Basic to intermediate level for inventory verification and other related tasks. - Strong attention to detail; minimal supervision; effective communication; adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.
- 2‑4 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- 2‑4 years proven forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
- Occasional:
Hand & finger manipulation, sitting, handling product and packaging materials. - Frequent:
Bending. - Constantly:
Walking and standing. - Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21‑50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Employees are rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually low to moderate.
Compensation and BenefitsExpected base pay range is $28.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
