Position Summary

Inventory Control Associate (Material Handler – Inventory ICQA) – Full‑time position at DSV‑Solutions in Independence, USA.

Shift 2A:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Every Other Wednesday, 5:00 am–5:30 pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory.
  • Direct customer interface to answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Return material coming from customer to factory.
  • Transfer material to the appropriate area.
  • Relocate material to keep and maintain inventory range and locations.
  • Safe use of all equipment.
  • Function autonomously, reporting progress and issues to supervisor/management.
  • Follow company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports to ensure inventory control and security; conduct physical inventory as required; assist in daily/monthly cycle counts; support shipping/receiving in locating missing items throughout facility.
  • Perform safety audits per operation requirements; report and correct unsafe operations.
  • Participate in daily start‑up and staff meetings as required; assist supervision as needed.
  • Use PC skills for e‑mail and generating reports as required.
  • Initiate action to prevent non‑conformities, identify and record problems, recommend solutions, and verify implementation.
  • Review/investigate inbound and/or outbound functions – unloading, checking, orderly stacking, storing, order pulling, staging, labeling, and loading – ship material to the factory upon client requests; notify management when procedures require updates.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area; perform housekeeping audits per operation requirements.
Other Duties (Site Specific)
  • Assist leadership as needed.
  • Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends; participate in cross‑training matrix activities.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance

All associates are responsible for executing safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the facility. Associates must comply with all standard operating procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months experience in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Ability to operate MHE.
  • Can work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse (mild to moderate).
Certificates, Licenses, or Designations
  • Completion of a forklift training program.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Computer Skills
  • Basic computer skills.
  • RF scanner usage.
  • WMS functions.
Language Skills
  • English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic to intermediate level for inventory counts and related duties.
Other
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to change and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years experience in an inventory department.
  • 1–3 years forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally:
    Hand & finger manipulation, sitting, handling product/packaging.
  • Frequently:
    Bending.
  • Constantly:
    Walking and standing.
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 21–50 pounds. Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Work Environment

Rare exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals; noise level usually low to moderate.
