Inventory Control Supervisor
As an Inventory Control Supervisor, you oversee the warehouse inventory team to ensure inventory and processes are accurately maintained, tracked, and reported. You will act as a liaison between internal and external teams to ensure accuracy of physical inventory and fiscal accounting.
Key Responsibilities:- Regular and consistent attendance
- Supervise, train and mentor team members
- Responsible to monitor and maintain inventory count is correct for product and product is available in sufficient quantities for members without too much date lag time in the warehouse, ensuring quality of product is never compromised
- Responsible to monitor and maintain adequate quantities of uniform and freezer wear is available for team members
- Ensure all pallets are tagged and recorded appropriately
- Must ensure the accurate location of product and protection of the same is adhered to by all employees
- Help control the OSHA Incident Rate (OIR) and Lost Time Incident Rate (LTI) by monitoring sanitation, safe working conditions, ensuring safety policies are followed, holding pre-shift meetings and proper usage of material handling equipment
- Monitor for GMP and food safety guidelines
- Understand the Emergency Procedures, ensure they are accessible and participate in update reviews
- Check computerized time/attendance on a daily basis to verify team members have the proper time clock punches in the system
- Ensure all team member forms for Time Adjustment, PTO requests, etc. are coordinated for staffing purposes and turned into HR timely for processing in the correct pay period
- Works closely with Operations Manager to maximize employee performance and improve employee/management relations
- Ensures all paperwork (logs, operational documents) are completed and turned in on a daily and weekly basis as required
- Collect/analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and solutions
- Understanding budget requirements, and identifying opportunities for cost control to include controlling wage expenses through shift scheduling and reduction of overtime
- Certified to operate and train all team members on required MHE
- Participate in the hiring process to include interviews, selection, etc.
- Responsible for department onboarding, retention and training
- Provides performance reviews for team members
- Provides input to manager regarding promotions and terminations
- Creating an environment of accountability for individual and team performance through analyzing and communicating metrics
- Crosstrain in all inventory team positions to stay current on duties, training and reaching minimum productivity levels Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
- Warehouse experience preferred
- Supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred
- Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
- Ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality of team member and company information
- Ability to apply strong math skills that result in identification of opportunities and justify action plan recommendations
- Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to read and understand label data
- Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to utilize good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate forklift, reach truck, and HiLo safely and accurately
- Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)
- Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as fall protection harnesses)
- Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, reach truck, etc.)
- Independently lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
- Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
- Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
- Ability to build pallets up to 6 feet tall with case weights up to 50 pounds
- Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
- Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as
-20 degrees Fahrenheit Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc) - Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
