Starting Wage:
Dependent on Qualifications (DOQ)
Pay Range: $31.46 - $47.18 per hour
Position:Accountant/Payroll Specialist
This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate processing of bi‑weekly payroll for union and non‑union employees, some of whom work various shifts for our 24/7 operation, and supporting essential accounting functions while handling sensitive and confidential information.
Key Responsibilities- Processing payroll accurately and on schedule
- Supporting accounting and financial record‑keeping functions
- Preparing routine reports, correspondence, and documentation
- Working independently or collaboratively across departments
- Maintaining strict confidentiality standards
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four‑year college or university
- OR
- Minimum of two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Payroll experience (experience with 24/7 operations and/or union payroll is a plus)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with staff at all organizational levels
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets LBVSD policy requirements
