Overview
Compensation: Starting at $70,000 (going up based on experience)
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; typically 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with flexibility as long as 7.5 hours are worked daily
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of a small, fast-paced professional services environment. This role reports directly to the Owner and is responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, including payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a more manual setting, can pivot priorities as needed, and has experience managing accounting functions independently.
Responsibilities- Process full-cycle payroll using Quick Books for approximately 30+ employees while ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, collections, and reconciliations
- Perform general ledger maintenance, including bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records in compliance with industry standards
- Support month-end and ad hoc financial reporting as needed
- Assist with special projects and additional accounting duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; prior experience in a legal or small professional services environment is preferred
- Proficient in Quick Books and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Demonstrated experience with full-cycle bookkeeping, including payroll, AP, AR, and reconciliations
- Comfortable working in a less automated, detail-heavy environment with manual processes
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and staff
- Full-cycle payroll processing in Quick Books for small to mid-sized teams
- Experience handling accounting functions in smaller or less automated environments
- Exposure to legal or professional services accounting practices
