Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the Finance organization as a bridge between routine transactional accounting activities and end-to-end processes with complex calculations and concepts. This role will also play a key role in financial statement preparation, forecasting, modeling and analysis. The person in this position will perform his/her duties consistent with the LHM and Ministry Services plans, strategic plans, policies, and other guidelines, and within applicable law.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities

Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

Ensure accurate financial statements that follow GAAP rules

Coordinate internal and external audits by pulling records

Analyze budget variances and report discrepancies

Review work performed by other staff in addition to training and guiding their work.

This role may supervise other staff and include performance management requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of accounting and/or auditing experience
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger tasks
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular focus on Excel
Advanced communication and organization skills
Ability to manage time and prioritize work to deliver accurate and timely customer service to colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree or certification
Demonstrated skills in leadership, mentoring and coaching – personal or work related
Experience with data management and coding
Experience with multinational organizations
Experience with system implementations

Location:

The candidate will be willing to work in a hybrid environment and maintain residence in the St. Louis, MO area.
