Job OverviewThe Auto Detailer is responsible for tracking and monitoring the maintenance of Drive Time vehicles and ensuring they look clean and neat.
Primary Responsibilities- Stock vehicles when they arrive from auction.
- Prepare and move vehicles around the Reconditioning Center for distribution to retail.
- Detail vehicles—wash and buff, perform minor paint touch‑ups, vacuum interior, and clean any additional surfaces.
- Use cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to maintain and enhance the appearance of vehicles.
- Perform inspections and keep complete, accurate records of each vehicle’s condition.
- Identify and complete repairs effectively the first time to minimize re‑work and production delays.
- Work in ways that decrease the possibility of injury to yourself or other team members in the shop due to spills or other preventable hazardous conditions.
- Collaborate with Reconditioning Center Management to repair or reject inventory based on estimated repair cost and/or overall vehicle quality.
- Excellent communicator—able to talk and write with confidence, charisma and competence for a wide variety of audiences including management.
- Active listener who seeks to understand rather than simply reply.
- Strong attention to detail—detail‑oriented work is essential in every aspect of the role.
- Team player who works well with others in a high‑functioning environment.
- Timely—adhering to regular and predictable attendance is required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable DMV status required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to communicate in English to ensure effective performance in a safety‑sensitive/technical environment.
