Position Title
Center Operations Manager 2
Position SummaryOctapharma Plasma is expanding and seeks a Center Operations Manager to maintain compliance, oversee operational performance, and foster a positive donor center culture.
Responsibilities- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations, including FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP to ensure compliance.
- Assist in hosting internal and external inspections by regulatory agencies and customers.
- Collaborate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and develop best practices.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with relevant departments.
- Promote safety, health, and environment policies; ensure training and mitigation of safety concerns.
- Oversee preventive maintenance of donor center equipment and maintain facility cleanliness.
- Manage product and sample storage equipment integrity, mitigate equipment failures.
- Prepare product shipments and manage unsuitable product per SOPs.
- Assist with achieving targeted production in quantity and quality; optimize operational costs.
- Provide feedback for employee performance evaluations and development plans.
- Participate in employment decisions, including hiring, promotions, demotions, and terminations.
- Nurture a robust, positive culture and uphold core values.
- Ensure adherence to HR policies, including workers compensation, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, leave, ADA/ accommodations, and employee relations.
- Assist in employee relations investigations.
- Serve as Designated Trainer, conducting on‑the‑job and certification training, assessing progress, and adapting methods.
- Conduct area walkthroughs to ensure consistent presence in production zones.
- Facilitate optimal productivity by providing necessary assistance.
- Cultivate respectful rapport with donors to promote retention and referral growth.
- Notify supervisor of irregularities; mitigate and report unsafe situations.
- Support payroll records, staff and leadership meetings, and schedule optimization.
- Drive operational performance toward KPIs and address deficiencies proactively.
- Collaborate with marketing and advertising initiatives.
- B.S. degree preferred; other education and experience combinations may be considered.
- 1–3 years of operations and/or process management or supervisory experience.
- 1–3 years of people management experience, including recruiting and training.
- Strong ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Background in fiscal management and/or budgeting preferred.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry preferred.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with office software preferred.
- Ability to work daytime, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and occasional after‑hours.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods up to four hours.
- Ability to lug, lift, and pull up to thirty‑five pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.
- Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of
-40 °C for short periods. - Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
- Ability to view a video display terminal less than 18 inches from face for extended periods.
