In higher education advancement, data is only as good as the strategy behind it. As a Prospect Management Consultant
, you won't just pull reports or manage data, you will serve as a trusted strategic partner to our frontline fundraising gift officers. You will guide frontline fundraisers through high-stakes donor pipelines and best practices in portfolio management, partner with managers to drive consistent operations and outcomes, and directly shape how our institution builds transformational relationships.

How You’ll Make an Impact- Be a Trusted Advisor: Partner directly with 15-20 frontline gift officers and Executive Directors across assigned geographic territories, tailoring your partnership approach to align with individual working styles and regional goals.
- Lead Consultations with Fundraisers: Drive quarterly strategy reviews to help fundraisers clean up portfolios, prioritize top prospects, and unblock stagnant relationships.
- Fuel the Pipeline: Build momentum with qualified prospects, ensuring high-capacity donors move seamlessly through pipeline stages.
- Turn Data into Action: Analyze portfolio health, pipeline velocity, and outcomes to deliver holistic, visual insights that drive strategic decisions.
- Identify Opportunities: Spot emerging giving trends and leverage reporting tools (CRM, Salesforce Lightening Reports, Tableau/Power BI, Excel) to recommend high-potential prospect assignments.
- Protect Data Integrity: Ensure our CRM data remains accurate, actionable, and aligned with institutional policies.
- Bridge the Gap: Serve as the strategic connective tissue between Prospect Research, Prospect Management, and frontline Leadership & Major Giving teams.
- Subject Matter Expert: Provide clear guidance and coaching on prospect management best practices, policies, and workflows.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree + 3 years of relevant experience in advancement/fundraising, data-informed, or long-term consultative environments.
- Emotional Intelligence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, adapt communication to diverse audiences, and coach team members through complex business processes.
- Growth Mindset: A fast, curious learner who naturally looks at problems through a broad, strategic lens and continuously searches for creative solutions.
- Data Fluency: Proven ability to compile, analyze, and communicate complex data from diverse sources into easy-to-understand strategic narratives.
- Experience in Higher Education Advancement or a comprehensive university setting.
- Background in prospect development, prospect research, or fundraising.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and analytics/data visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, R, or Python).
- Location: St. Louis, MO (Campus-based, eligible to work remotely on Fridays).
