Requirements
- A minimum of 36 college credit hours and experience in the childcare or education field is preferred.
May consider experience in lieu of education and must pass Para Praxis through DESE. - Experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
The job of Child Care Site Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of providing support of the instructional program with specific responsibility for planning, implementing and supervising a safe and developmentally appropriate curriculum and environment for the child care program at the school site; providing assistance with homework; and planning, organizing and supervising the duties of the staff.
This job reports to the Director - Child Care (Fort Discovery)
Essential Functions- Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional (e.g. diapering, tube feeding, colostomy bag, medication, etc.) for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
- Collects parent fees and balances receipts on a daily basis for the purpose of following up with parents when accounts are past due, completing transactions and/or securing funds needed to support the program.
- Communicates by oral or written contact with parents of program students and teachers and staff of the host school on a daily basis for the purpose of assisting in evaluating progress and cultivating supportive relationships.
- Distributes instructional and/or play materials for the purpose of providing required supplies for planned activities.
- Implements a harmonious atmosphere (e.g. displays leadership through role modeling a positive image, classroom and playground safety, proper supervision of students at all times, monthly practice of disaster and emergency drills, peaceful resolution of conflicts, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings and movement to and from designated areas (e.g. snack time, group or individual game time, playground, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Participates in a variety of meetings (e.g. staff development training programs, orientation training to new staff, monthly administration meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Plans all indoor/outdoor, quiet/active play activities and games for the purpose of enriching student experiences in curriculum and recreation and assuring that all activities are developmentally appropriate.
- Prepares a variety of materials, correspondence and reports (e.g. time sheets for staff, requisitions for supplies needed, monthly parent calendar and newsletter, current staff records, etc.) for the purpose of conveying information, providing written reference, and/or meeting mandated requirements.
- Supervises evaluates and schedules immediate staff and arranges substitutes when needed for the purpose of monitoring performance, achieving program objectives, and ensuring the safety of students and the environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate.
