Position: Building Coach for the 2026-2027 School Year

BUILDING COACH Qualifications:

  • Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate.

Reports to: Building Administrator

Job Goal: Provide instructional support to Building Pre K-5 educational staff focusing on increasing teachers' knowledge and skills in order to improve student achievement.

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Well Versed In District Initiatives and Curriculum
  • Work With Teachers
    • Serve as Building Coach by modeling and supporting teachers to increase instructional skills and fidelity of curriculum implementation
      • Model lessons, co-teach, observe and provide feedback to teachers
      • Support the development of model lesson plans and curriculum navigation, as needed
    • Mentor new and experienced teachers to help increase instructional skill
    • Analyze and use data effectively to meet the instructional needs of all learners
    • Assist teachers with effective technology integration within the learning process
    • Possesses high professional standards, maintains confidentiality and promotes trust and professional growth
    • Using data to improve individual teaching performance
  • District and Building Support
    • Work with building administrators in using data to improve individual teacher and school performance
    • Provide targeted assistance to support buildings to meet state performance standards
    • Provide professional development training, follow-up and support of district initiatives at the building level
    • Promotes the sharing of teaching techniques and good instructional practices among staff
    • Supports principals in the area of curriculum and instruction with the planning and implementation of each school's professional development plan as needed
  • Curriculum and Assessment
    • Work with teachers on developing and implementing effective assessments within classrooms and data analysis
    • Provides teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to use formal and informal assessments to improve classroom instruction and student achievement
  • Performs other duties as assigned and works collaboratively with supervisor in personal goal setting and professional growth.
Terms of Employment:

The salary and work year will be established annually by the Board of Education.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
