Job Description:
Supports processes and teams including general office administration and clerical support; reception/telephone/switchboard; mailroom & filing support.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED, at least 2 years related experience. Residency requirement:
Must reside in Missouri; remote but prefers residents in Missouri or surrounding states.
Ensures school age children are attending school regularly by investigating causes of unexcused or excessive absences, communicating with families and assisting them in problem‑solving, issuing attendance‑based warnings, and helping to represent the school if cases go to court.
Responsibilities- Coordinate school‑wide attendance efforts and absenteeism prevention programming with a two‑fold focus: educating families on the importance of attendance with a focus on prevention and intervening to fix underlying issues that lead to absenteeism.
- Work with teachers to monitor student adherence to the school’s attendance policies.
- Email, call and send auto‑dial notices to targeted student population.
- Recommend families to the appropriate administrator for truancy intervention meetings as necessary.
- Attend truancy meetings with school administrators.
- Ensure state compliance guidelines are met for student attendance, progress and system logins.
- Ensure school policy and state requirements are met regarding all attendance withdrawals.
- Produce attendance/truancy reports for the school, county and state, as required.
- Work with the Student Support Team to assist students in situations where referral to service agencies is necessary.
- Work with families and teachers to develop individualized action plans to increase student attendance and engagement.
- Work with the Student Support Administrator, Head of School and local school board to develop improved procedures addressing attendance.
- Work with families and student support staff to prevent juvenile delinquency.
- Develop and implement educational workshops related to absenteeism for school staff and families.
- Assist staff on projects regarding student attendance/truancy.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of truancy experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to pass required background check.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of state school attendance laws and other pertinent K‑12 laws.
- Knowledge of state specific court procedures regarding truancy.
- Familiarity with online learning environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to travel 20% of the time.
- Three years of experience working with families in a similar capacity, enrollment or truancy.
- Post‑secondary degree especially in Education, Counseling, Human Services or related field of study.
Stride, Inc. considers the employee’s education, experience, and qualifications, location, work quality, travel, market, etc. to determine salary. Salary range is $17.22-$22 per hour. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Salary is not guaranteed and varies. Location & Work EnvironmentThis is a home‑based position but may require one or more days a week in the office as determined by the supervisor.
