Assistant Preschool teacher

About This Role

We are hiring 1 teacher as the assistant for 3-4 year old preschool. Our preschool program is full day, all year, and is play-based. This program is for potty trained kids. Our facility is brand new, with tons natural light, a great culture of teamwork, and amazing kids/families. We value outdoor time - we try to do as much schooling outside as possible.

We think this improves mental health for our kiddos and our staff! The position is four days a week 7:30AM - 5:30PM. We are Christian-based and our preschool teacher teaches Bible lessons during the week. We are a private preschool, and do not allow children with extreme behaviors. This position is the assistant to our lead teacher with 20 kids (1 lead, one assistant).

• Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
• Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.
• Observe and monitor children's play activities.
• Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
• Teach children cognitive skills through play based learning - no worksheets!

• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification paid by employee.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
• Complete safe sleep training online (free).

• Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
• A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.

1 year of teaching experience with preschool is preferred.

• PTO 1 week and 5 paid holidays.
• No weekends/holidays.
